INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR THE GENERAL WELFARE

We note with great pride that Turkmenistan, steadily developing along the path of peace and trust has established itself in the world as a state pursuing a unique foreign policy and its achievements in this direction have further strengthened its international authority.

The International Forum for the General Welfare held in Independent Turkmenistan from August 5 to 8, 2025, under the chairmanship of the esteemed President became another confirmation of this. The number of landlocked developing countries includes a total of 32 countries with a population of 570 million people.

The conference began on August 3 with a flag-raising ceremony at the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone a place of friendship and brotherhood to mark the opening of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

One of the main political events in preparation for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, which took place on August 4 in Avaza as part of the international forum was the awarding of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Order of Turkmenistan “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation”.

The participation of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, presidents, vice-presidents and representatives of the governing bodies of friendly countries in this important event, which attracted the attention of the whole world to Turkmenistan and was of great importance for the whole world, demonstrated the significance of the conference.

The conference held on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea played a significant role in the positive resolution of maritime issues, deepening regional integration and had a significant impact on the activation of the global development of international relations, opening a new page in this regard and creating a solid foundation for this.

It is worth noting with pride that the historical speeches of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the esteemed President within the framework of the forum, which continued in the format of plenary sessions, as well as mutual meetings with high-ranking officials, have a deep meaning, revealing the main goal and content of the conference - promoting development through cooperation.

The speeches of the guests who arrived to participate in the conference, the Parliamentary Forum, the Civil Society Forum, the Youth Forum, the Women Leaders Meeting, the Private Forum, the Ministerial Meeting on South-South Cooperation, bilateral meetings of relevant structures, round tables, press conferences, briefings and other related events held within the framework of the conference also acquired great importance and activity in the exchange of experience and the implementation of projects. The adoption of a cultural program within the framework of the international conference, which is an important event of the new historical era of our democratic country, which has become the center of world diplomacy, namely the holding of cultural events - exhibitions, concerts of cultural and art figures, bringing peoples together - created broad conditions for a meaningful and rich forum, development of cultural diplomacy, filling it with effective and memorable events, as well as for the celebration of the world example of hospitality of the Turkmen people.

It should be noted with pride that the International Conference on Peace and Sustainable Development held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the pearl coast of the Caspian Sea during the International Year of Peace and Trust became a celebration of friendly international relations of our country. After all, the guests who visited our country noted with satisfaction the high organizational level of this important event and its global significance in expanding economic opportunities.

The holding of such a high-level forum in our country this year, which marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations are of great importance. This is a clear reflection of the broad support and recognition of our country’s initiatives to strengthen effective relations in the interests of ensuring common well-being and security, enhancing cooperation in such areas as sustainable energy, transport and logistics, ecology and environmental protection.

Thus, this international forum, covering the cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as the sphere of development and ecology, providing for cooperation within the framework of the “Avaza” program for the next ten years and important events organized within its framework have become a clear indication of the development of friendly cooperation with the world community and friendly countries of economically developed, politically stable Turkmenistan, pursuing a policy of goodwill, taking existing relations to a new level.
