CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
It is with great pride that we can say that in the International Year of Peace and Trust, international authority of our state, which implements events of universal significance and confidently developing has been further strengthened. Of course, this was clearly confirmed by the trilateral summit in the format of “Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan”, which took place in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” on August 22, 2025. Indeed, holding various international events of mutual benefit to the country and the world on the ecologically clean Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea has become a noble tradition based on the principles of our statehood.
In accordance with this noble tradition, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in this important international summit held on the shores of the Caspian Sea. On August 22 of this year, the heads of state of the Republics of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were warmly and solemnly welcomed at the Turkmenbashi International Airport.
On August 22, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as our Hero Arkadag with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the meetings, which were held in an expanded format with the participation of bilateral and official delegations, it was noted that Turkmen-Azerbaijan and Turkmen-Uzbek relations have acquired a systemic and consistent character.
The trilateral summit in the format of “Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan” held in the modern Congress Center “Avaza” became a vivid confirmation of the rapid development and strengthening of close political, economic, cultural and humanitarian, reaching a qualitatively new level of international cooperation of our country with various regions of the world, including with its closest neighbors.
Of course, it should be emphasized that the summit meeting between Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, which wrote an important page in the new historical era of international cooperation, played a vital role in ensuring peace at the international level and sustainable development in various fields, as well as in achieving positive results along this path.
At the end of the trilateral summit meeting between Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, a signing ceremony was held. The signed Memorandums, Protocols and Agreements defined the areas of further cooperation. Following the summit meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev adopted the Joint Declaration of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
After the signing ceremony, our National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan addressed the press.
The address of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan to the press following the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan summit meeting was filled with special meaning. In his speech, Hero Arkadag noted: “During the summit meeting, we reached agreements on creating favorable conditions for the further development of large-scale humanitarian ties between the peoples of the three fraternal countries. Of course, cooperation in this area includes such humanitarian spheres as science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, song and music art, carpet weaving, horse breeding, etc.”.
In their speeches, the Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan also noted with satisfaction that this trilateral meeting plays a major role in the development of international relations in the region.
After the press conference, our Hero Arkadag, the Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly visited the venue of the cultural events planned for the trilateral summit meeting and enjoyed watching the performances of the national equestrian group “Galkynysh”. As a sign of deep gratitude of the Turkmen side for participating in the summit meeting, making positive decisions following the negotiations and supporting the achievement of agreements, one of the main events of the cultural program was the presentation of a beautiful Akhal-Teke horse named Tavus to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the esteemed President, National Leader and all the Turkmen people, and then the presentation of a she-camel with a baby camel to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on behalf of the esteemed President, our Hero Arkadag and all the Turkmen people.
The leaders of the fraternal states expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero Arkadag, the esteemed President and the entire Turkmen people for these gifts, noting that they accept these gifts as a sign of deep respect for their countries and peoples.
Celebrations typical of Turkmen holidays were also organized. National dishes were prepared in front of the rows of yurts “ak öý”. An exhibition of works of decorative and applied art gave the celebrations a special flavor.
Overall, the trilateral summit became a celebration of friendly and fraternal relations between Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and opened a new historical page in international relations.
