CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
As you know, recently our esteemed President paid an official visit to the Russian Federation. This visit was the next step in the further development of fruitful interstate relations, which have the nature of strategic cooperation and are based on the principles of friendship, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation.
By the way, it is noteworthy that in his capacity as head of state, the President paid his first foreign visit to the Russian Federation.
During the high-level bilateral talks, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Turkmen-Russian strategic cooperation. Then in the "Malachite" hall of the Grand Kremlin was the ceremony of awarding President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the state prize of the Russian Federation - the order of "Friendship".
Under the applauses of audience the President of the Russian Federation solemnly presented the order of "Friendship" to the President of Turkmenistan. Addressing the Russian Leader and members of the delegation our state Leader said it was a great honor for him to be awarded this high award and to accept it as a symbol of respect for our country. Also, there were a signing ceremony of a number of bilateral documents.
At the end of the signing ceremony, the two heads of state addressed the media.
