CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The CIS Observation Mission continues monitoring of the Presidential Elections in Turkmenistan.
First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Executive Secretary V. Guminskiy met Chairman of Ashgabat Election Committee D. Alakova.
The Head of the city election committee informed V. Guminskiy on the work undertaken for preparation to the elections, having explained in details nomination and registration procedures of the candidates for the President of Turkmenistan, work with the list of the constituents and election campaign.
The CIS international observers visited divisional election committees of Ashgabat and Ahal Velayat where they inspected technical provision of the pooling stations, the work for methodical provision of the committees and work with electorate lists.
The formation of the CIS Observation Mission is continued. As for January 27, 2017, documents for accreditation of 53 observers from the CIS representing Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS countries, Parliamentary Union of Belarus and Russia and the CIS Executive Committee were submitted to the Central Committee for Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan.
