CENTRAL COMMISSION FOR HOLDING ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUMS IN TURKMENISTAN
The initiatives of our Hero Arkadag to promote and preserve our people’s national heritage worldwide are currently being successfully implemented by our esteemed President. Having created such unique breeds as the Ahal-Teke horse, the Turkmen Alabay and the greyhound, our people have managed to preserve their breed characteristics unchanged to this day, developing and refining the best qualities of these beautiful breeds.
Currently, this work is continuing in accordance with the requirements of the time. The International Association of Turkmen Alabay was established in order to develop national dog breeding, which has its origins in ancient times and spread successes and achievements in this field internationally. Under the wise leadership of our esteemed President great efforts are being made in our country to further enhance the global fame of Turkmen Alabay – one of our national treasures dating back centuries by preserving and enhancing its diversity, conducting breeding work and developing this field internationally.
During the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state – glory, importance and value of the Turkmen Alabay reached new heights. This is evidenced by the widespread celebration at the state level of the Turkmen Alabay Day, annually on the last Sunday of October.
Our national heritage rooted in centuries and leaving an indelible mark on history was an invaluable contribution to the achievements of human culture. The glorification of the Turkmen people in honor of our famous Alabay dogs, considered one the most exalted in the world as champions of our values, distinguished by courage, loyalty and intelligence, testifies to the Turkmen people’s particular pride in their national values.
For centuries Alabay has played an important role in the life of our people in folklore and literature.
Our people have not only given the world a unique example of selective breeding, but also by cultivating and refining the best qualities, preserved the purity of the ancient breed and its gene pool for centuries. Today, we are witnessing the growing fame of the remarkable Alabay breed – pride and priceless treasure of our people.
In our country, exemplary Turkmen Alabay are considered an important part of our people’s culture. As part of the festive celebrations honoring our loyal friends, we are holding a competition called “Brave Turkmen Alabay of the Year” creative review dedicated to the Turkmen Alabay and meeting of the International Association of “Turkmen Alabay”. In honor of the Turkmen Alabay Day by decree of the esteemed President, our dog breeders have been awarded the honorary title of “Honored Dog Breeder of Turkmenistan”.
Introducing our national historical and cultural heritage to the world and preserving it is – one of the important areas of state policy, successfully implemented by our Hero Arkadagly Serdar. The development of Alabay breeding and further improvement of this unique breed – main focuses of the extensive work being carried out in this direction.
Experts consider Alabay – is the only breed uninfluenced by other breeds and has preserved its ancient genotype in its purest form. Alabay habitats can be found in ancient settlements in Turkmenistan. Archaeologists have discovered the remains of a giant Alabay with a large head and powerful jaws, which lived in 4000 BC in the ancient Jeytun in the territory of the Ahal Velayat. This indicates that our ancient ancestors bred Alabay dogs 6.000 years ago.
Experienced dog breeders understand perfectly well that punitive measures and forceful methods should not be used when breeding Alabay dogs. They should be treated with respect and then they will become true and loyal companions. Centuries of selective breeding have helped cultivate these qualities in Alabay dogs. They embody the Turkmen people’s understanding of harmony, beauty, material and spiritual values and are an integral part of their national culture.
We wish our National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag and Hero Arkadagly Serdar good health and long life, as well as success in his endeavors for the benefit of the people and the country.
